    The classic 1930s interiors of Leeds Castle inspired London artist Martin Grover to create a set of prints in the distinctive poster style of the period. The display will take place in the Exhibition Centre.

    'Ready, Steady, Cook' at Easter

    Dates: 31st March 2015

    Celebrate Easter by entering our cookery competition to educate our young visitors on the joy and art of cooking good food.
    Created by our experienced chefs, the competitions will see two teams given the ingredients and instructions on how to create Easter cakes, after which the clock will give them 15 minutes to make their creations.
    A vote at the end will decide whose Easter treats look and taste the best. We’re ‘Putting the Fun Back into Food’ and we believe everyone will be a winner!
    From 11.30am, join us in the Terrace Room, Fairfax Restaurant, which will put our young visitors’ cooking skills to the test. Entry is free!

     Over the last 900 years, countless alterations and modernisations have been made to the Grade I listed castle by generations of previous owners. Discover what happened in 1660 to cause half of the castle to fall into the moat and what a medieval toilet in Henry VIII’s time would have looked like!

    Meet at 11.30am at the Castle Shop. Tours are included with your admission ticket. Tour is weather permitting.

    Keep the children amused during the Easter school holidays with the Leeds Castle Easter Trails.
    Discover eight hidden Easter eggs as you follow a traditional trail through the Woodland Walk. In spring, the Wood Garden alongside the River Len is a particularly lovely way to approach the castle. Its carpet of Daffodils, Narcissi and Anemones presents a vibrant burst of colour. This trail costs £1 per child including a chocolate prize.
    Across the rest of the estate, past the magnificent entrance to the Castle and up towards the Maze, circus themed characters will be hidden ready to be discovered. Once you have found the circus characters, break the code to be rewarded with a chocolate prize. This trail also costs £1 per child.

        RSPB at Leeds Castle

    The RSPB will be ‘Giving Nature a Home’ by offering fun wildlife activities including the chance to use a telescope to discover the amazing diversity of wildlife here at Leeds Castle. Experts will be on hand to answer any questions about protecting nature in your garden and further afield.
    This activity is included with the price of admission and takes place outside the Falconry Office from 10am to 4pm.

    Baldwin the Fool and Godfrey Pugh bring jester juggling jollity to the Castle this Easter weekend.
    Be taken back to days of jesters and nights of....knights. Where comedy was uncomplicated and the comedians were simple.
    Children can learn a variety of circus skills (11.30am & 3.30pm) and our jesters will demonstrate stilt walking and perform juggling shows for the whole family to enjoy (1pm & 2.30pm). For a small additional charge, have your face painted and try to hit the target by having a go at archery.

        Hawk Walk

    Join the Falconry team who will take you on a walk through the Upper parkland. Learn more about these magnificent Birds of Prey whilst having the opportunity to fly hawks from glove to glove. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
    Tickets £20 per person. A valid admission ticket is also required. The walk is one hour from time specified upon booking.

    Spring Flower Arranging Workshop

    Dates: 15th April 2015

    Create your own beautiful handmade floral arrangement to take home. Learn the principles of design while watching a demonstration of a Castle arrangement from head florist Louise Roots. Create your own spring table arrangement to take home using seasonal flowers such as Anemone, Iris and Tulips. Learn what to consider when choosing flowers, forms, textures and colour combinations and for conditioning flowers and improving their vase life.
    Workshop £50 per person (includes one day entrance to Leeds Castle and refreshments). Workshops run from 11am to 3pm. Workshop must be pre-booked online and takes place in the Maiden’s Tower.

    Step back in time and experience an evening of ‘art decadence’ at Leeds Castle as you join a lavish house party reminiscent of the 1930s.
    Residential guests begin with a delicious afternoon tea followed by a spot of croquet on the lawn.
    Evening entertainment begins with ‘prohibition’ cocktails followed by a guided tour of the Castle. A delicious three-course menu on a contemporary 1930s theme will be served in the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall while live entertainment is provided by Billie Wilson as you relax with coffee and chocolates next to an open fire.
    Carriages are at midnight and residential guests enjoy a full English breakfast the following morning in the Dining Room.

    One of the Leeds Castle Grounds team will take you on a delightful walk around our woodlands. Find out about the history of the woodland, its development since the 1930s and how we maintain this beautiful part of the estate.

    The Wildlife Warden will take you on a guided walk around the magnificent Castle parkland highlighting unusual wildlife en route. See the stunning views from this normally unvisited part of the estate.

    Meet at 11.30am outside the Castle Shop. Please ensure you have suitable footwear and clothing. Not suitable for wheelchair users or visitors with walking difficulties. This walk is included with your admission ticket. 

        Spring Photo Walks

    A rare opportunity to improve your photography skills and capture the castle grounds and spring flowers with your own equipment with professional guidance from Robert Canis. 

    Robert will explain the various controls on your camera and discuss such things as composition, lighting, exposure and lens selection. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop and set up your shot for photographs in the grounds. The workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities.

    Morning session: 10am to 12.30pm
    Afternoon session: 2pm to 4.30pm

    The Leeds Castle Open Air Classical Concert will feature the world famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Rigby. Now in its 37th year the concert is a highlight of the summer season.
    Last year, the crowd of 11,000 sang along to the traditional and uplifting music, waving flags as they enjoyed their picnics in the vast natural amphitheatre at Leeds Castle and an emotional finale of stunning fireworks and booming field guns as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra played the famous 1812 Overture.

        The Demelza Run

    This year marks the 11th anniversary of this fundraising event for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. Returning to the Castle, where the very first Demelza Run was held, participants of all ages are welcome. Suitable for novice runners taking on their first 5k to experienced runners who are looking for a more challenging 10k.

    Leeds Castle will once again be transformed for a Festival of Flowers by award winning floral designers and budding florists under the guidance of the Castle Florist Louise Roots. This continues the long tradition of decorating Leeds Castle through floral creations as was the ‘Castle Way’ under the ownership of the Castle’s last private owner, Anglo-American heiress Lady Baillie.
    Entry to this event is included in your entrance ticket to Leeds Castle. 

        Festival of Flowers Dinner

    The Festival of Flowers Dine and Sleep event recreates the floral grandeur of Lady Baillie’s infamous house parties.
    Learn the Castle’s floristry techniques as you create your own hand tied bouquet and table arrangement in the Maiden’s Tower while accompanying guests take part in a falconry experience. Afterwards relax with a traditional afternoon tea served in the Dining Room.
    Enjoy an evening Pimms reception and tour of the floral designs before an indulgent three-course dinner in the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall featuring flowers from the Castle gardens.
    Relax in the opulent Drawing Rooms over coffee and chocolates before retiring at midnight to your luxurious Castle bedroom. A full English breakfast is served the following morning in the Dining Room.

    Children will be spellbound at the Witches and Wizard Academy during October Half Term. A children’s trail will take place throughout the grounds with a chocolate prize at the end. A fancy dress competition takes place daily, while spellbinding stories will entertain younger children.

    After the grand finale, the warmth of the Castle beckons where roaring log fires and Winter Pimms await you.     Start the evening with a sparkling cranberry cocktail served in the Terrace Room prior to a delicious three-course dinner followed by tea, coffee and mince pies. Dance the night away with a disco and stay refreshed throughout the evening with a cash bar.
    Evening guests depart at midnight while residential guests retire to the Stable Courtyard Bedrooms just a short stroll away. Overnight guests have the choice of a full English or Continental breakfast the following morning in the Fairfax Hall.

    Leeds Castle hosts the annual Christmas Market on the Cedar Lawn overlooking the Castle. Discover an array of seasonal gift ideas, toys, decorations, live music, rides for children, cookery and floristry demonstrations.

    Celebrate the start of the New Year at Leeds Castle surrounded by its majestic moat. The evening begins with Champagne served in the Castle Library followed by a guided tour of the Castle.
    Dinner is a delicious four-course fine dining experience, served in the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall. The menu boasts sumptuous dishes such as lobster, beef and venison to suit the opulent surroundings followed by coffee and chocolates.
    A live band will entertain you throughout the evening as you dance the night away, before your Champagne glass is refilled for the midnight toast and a spectacular fireworks display to complete the memorable evening. Residential guests will be served a full English breakfast the following morning in the Castle Dining Room.
