    The Below Stairs Tour - A Servant's Life

    Explore areas of the castle not normally seen by the public. Your guide will show you several rooms including the castle kitchens, state bedrooms and the servants rooms. Find out about the history of these rooms and what they would have been used for.

    Price £5 per person (price is in addition to entry fee). Max 20 people per tour.

    Tours start at 11.30am and last one hour and must be pre-booked online. A valid admission ticket is also required. 

      The Glorious 1930s Castle House Party

    Step back to the 1930s and experience an evening of glamour at Leeds Castle. Residential guests will arrive in style to the castle front door chauffeured in a 1937 Rolls Royce motor car. A delicious afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and home baked cakes will then be taken in the Dining Room. 
    The evening’s entertainment will begin with ‘prohibition’ cocktails accompanied by 1930’s music sung live by Billie Wilson. Join the guided tour of the castle followed by a delicious three-course dinner to be served in the Banqueting Hall.  After dinner coffee and chocolates are served in the Drawing Room. Stay overnight in the Castle bedrooms with a full English breakfast the following morning.

     Join us for a special behind the scenes tour of The Maiden’s Tower. See where Catherine of Aragon’s ladies in waiting were accommodated when the Tudor court was in residence. Find out why this tower has its name, learn about the roaring 1920s and what it was used for during World War II.

The Honourable Anthony Russell will be on the Castle Island signing copies of his new book ‘Outrageous Fortune’ for visitors. In his stunning memoir, Anthony Russell recounts memories of his childhood spent growing up at the castle in the 1950s, with luxury and opulence few can imagine.     Leeds Castle will be joining other heritage properties for this year’s UK-wide festival. We will be throwing open the doors after hours and combining two events into one – a special introduction to the stunning new Gatehouse Exhibition, plus an inspiring talk from the Head Gardener on the formal gardens at Leeds Castle. If you do not normally have the chance to visit the Castle during our usual open hours, this is your opportunity to discover over 900 years of history – in the evening!

    Tickets £7 per person including a glass of wine for over 18s only. Evening runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Must be pre-booked online. Not included in the price of admission ticket.

      Supercar Siege

    Get up close to hundreds of iconic, historic and classic cars on the castle lawns. The event, run in aid of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund, will include a military marching band and a new ‘British Motorsport’ section.

    Get up close to a military helicopter* and, for a charitable donation, take a ‘dream ride’ in a top sports car, driven by its owner. A valid entrance ticket to Leeds Castle is required for this event.

    Join Breast Cancer Care at Leeds Castle on a guided 10 or 20 mile walk in beautiful countryside and support people living with breast cancer. Breast Cancer Care will provide everything you need along the route, from toilets and water to free snacks and lots of encouragement! All you need to do is enjoy the walk and raise at least £100 to help fund our specialist services for people with breast cancer.

    The Royal Armouries Henry VIII Armour Exhibition

    Dates: 23rd July 2014 to 21st September 2014

    The Royal Armouries are bringing to the Castle two of the finest pieces from their collection; the extraordinary ‘horned helmet’ given to King Henry VIII by the Holy Roman Emperor Maximillian I and Henry’s own ‘tonlet’ armour, made for him to wear at the tournament of the Field of the Cloth of Gold.
    It’s a return journey for the armour, as Henry stayed at the Castle on his way to France just before the event in 1520. There is an accompanying exhibition showing how Tudor armour was made, with wonderful craftsmanship and more examples of Henry’s armour.

    Step back to the 1930s and experience an evening of glamour at Leeds Castle. Join in a game of croquet on the lawn before relaxing in an elegant wooden punt and floating gently through the ancient arches of the 900 year old Castle. A delicious afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and home baked cakes will then be taken in the Dining Room. 
    The evening’s entertainment will begin with ‘prohibition’ cocktails accompanied by live 1930s music. Join the guided tour of the castle followed by a delicious three-course dinner to be served in the Banqueting Hall.  After dinner coffee and chocolates are served in the Drawing Room. Stay overnight in the Castle bedrooms with a full English breakfast the following morning.

      The Demelza Run

    The Demelza Run

    This year marks the 10th anniversary of this fundraising event for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. Returning to the castle, where the very first Demelza Run was held, participants of all ages are welcome. Suitable for novice runners taking on their first 5k to experienced runners who are looking for a more challenging 10k.
    In 2013 the Demelza Run raised an extraordinary £55,000 to help the charity continue its work caring for life-limited children and their families in Kent, East Sussex and South London.
    Entry costs £15 for adults, £5 for children, £35 for a family of four (2 adults & 2 children).

    This popular floral event returns to the castle this autumn. See the castle’s State rooms transformed into works of art using flowers, by local florists, flower societies and clubs. A valid entrance ticket to Leeds Castle is required for this event.

    Go Walkies with the Guide Dogs

    As part of Guide Dogs Week (4 – 12 October 2014) get your four legged friends sponsored and join the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association at the Upper Parkland area of Leeds Castle for a special 3 mile dog walk around the beautiful grounds and help raise funds for their vital guide dogs service. Walk commences at 11am, all dogs are welcome and there will be a great BBQ with good quality food available after the walk.

    Join the Alzheimer's Society at the Memory Walk taking place in the grounds of the stunning castle. The walks will meander around the beautiful parkland with plenty of opportunity to soak up the views.

    The South East’s biggest and best fireworks display over the 900-year old Castle! A great night out for the whole family with fireworks set to music.

    Combine first class hospitality and the South-East’s biggest and best firework display. Settle into your bedroom before joining the other guests for a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the firework setup. Afternoon tea will then be served in the Dining Room. Wrap up warm for the display and return to the castle afterwards for Winter Pimms and a three course dinner in the Banqueting Hall followed by coffee in the Drawing Rooms.
    At the end of the evening, retire to your magnificent Castle bedroom and enjoy a full English breakfast, the following morning in the Dining Room.
