Anteroom window shutters

Copy photograph of a window in the Anteroom (now Lady Baillie’s Boudoir), with a pair of shutters of Rateau’s design. Stamped A. A. Rateau, 17 Quai Conti, Paris VI, Tel. Danton 85 81.

Another copy at PH15/17.

The photographs in series PH5 are from a large, leather-bound album which appears to have been compiled by or for Lady Baillie c.1960. The album’s contents are wide-ranging, from views of the Castle and grounds to family weddings and christenings, and cover the period between the late 1920s to 1950s. It also includes copies of several original photographs by Rateau, some of which are in series PH15, while others are the only surviving copies in the collection.
