Supporting teachers and schools is at the heart of our education programme at Leeds Castle, and this January we were delighted to open our gates for a special Teacher Discovery Day.
Designed to inspire, the day gave educators the chance to explore the estate first-hand and discover how Leeds Castle can bring learning to life across a wide range of subjects and key stages. Teachers enjoyed full access to the Castle, grounds, woodland walk, and maze, experiencing the estate exactly as their pupils would on a school visit.
At the Education Centre, teachers met our friendly Education team and explored our dedicated learning spaces, complete with bespoke costumes and props used in our sessions. Conversations throughout the day focused on our curriculum-linked programmes, themed workshops and supporting resources, showcasing how a visit to Leeds Castle offers immersive, hands-on learning beyond the classroom walls.
Teachers were also encouraged to bring family members along, turning the day into a shared experience. Guests enjoyed exploring the playgrounds, watching falconry displays, and soaking up the beauty of the wider estate.
The Discovery Day was a fantastic success, giving teachers a deeper insight into our education offer, and inspiring future school visits to Leeds Castle.
