Leeds Castle Chief Executive Joins VisitEngland Board

Leeds Castle is celebrating the news that its Chief Executive, Helen Bonser-Wilton, has been appointed to the VisitEngland Board following a competitive process.

VisitEngland plays a vital role in shaping the country’s tourism landscape, working with VisitBritain and partners across the public and private sectors to deliver a national tourism strategy, attract marketing investment and ensure world-class visitor experiences across the country.

Helen’s appointment is a recognition of her exceptional leadership and dedication to the heritage and tourism sector. With more than 20 years’ experience, she has successfully grown and led some of England’s most treasured attractions – from senior positions with the National Trust in the South West, to her transformative role as Chief Executive of The Mary Rose in Portsmouth, and most recently her leadership of Leeds Castle in Kent.

Helen said: “I am delighted to be joining the VisitEngland Board and to support the growth of the Visitor Economy, as well as the improvement of the Visitor Experience in England.”

Her five-year term begins in September 2025, and she will undertake this Non-Executive role alongside her ongoing leadership at Leeds Castle.

This appointment celebrates Helen’s achievements while also underlining Leeds Castle’s contribution to England’s vibrant visitor economy.
