In the accessible lodges, you can expect well-lit level/ramped access from the parking area, with dedicated parking bays, to the retreat entrance. Although cosy, each retreat has been designed to enable sufficient space for wheelchair manoeuvrability to access each room and comes equipped with a wet room. Each doorway has a minimum width of 800mm. The kitchen worktop dimensions are 880mm height x 590mm depth x 2800mm width. The fridge, combined oven/microwave, slimline dishwasher are all floor mounted, the two ring hob and sink are worktop mounted.

To Use the Oven:

1. Press the F key to turn on.
2. Tap the F key repeatedly to choose your cooking mode (e.g. Convection, Grill).
3. Use the – / + buttons or slide bar to set the temperature.
4. Press S to set the cooking time, then use – / + to adjust.
5. Press Start to begin cooking.

Microwave Function:

• The oven also includes a built-in microwave.
• Choose the microwave symbol, then set the time and power level (e.g., 300W for defrosting, 700–900W for reheating or cooking).
• Press Start to begin.

Important Tips:

• You can pause, change time or temperature at any point using the control panel.
• Only place food inside once the oven has preheated (you’ll hear a beep when ready).
• Do not use metal containers or foil in microwave mode.

Getting Started:

1. Turn on the hob by touching the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds.
2. Place a suitable induction pan on a cooking zone. The hob will only work if the pan is induction-compatible and properly positioned.
3. Select the cooking zone by tapping the corresponding zone select button.
4. Adjust the heat using the + or – buttons (Levels go from 1 to 9).

If no heat level is selected within 1 minute, the hob will switch off.

Boost Function:

• To heat quickly, press the Boost (P) button after selecting your zone.
• The hob will return to level 9 after 5 minutes automatically.
• To cancel Boost manually, reduce the power or press both + and – to return to 0.

After Cooking:

• To switch off a zone, select it and reduce the power to 0.
• A hot surface indicator will remain on until the zone has cooled.

Child Lock:

• Touch and hold the lock button for 3 seconds to lock the controls (except OFF).
• To unlock, hold the same button again until controls are re-enabled.

Safety Notes:

• The hob will not operate without a suitable induction pan.
• If the wrong item (e.g. cutlery) is left on the hob, it will turn off automatically after 1 minute.
• The hob includes over-temperature protection and will shut off if it gets too hot.

Knights’ Retreat is self-catering, giving you the flexibility to enjoy meals your way, whether that’s a relaxed breakfast in your pyjamas or a cosy dinner around the table.

Located just a short stroll from your accommodation, Castle View is our on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

The Park Gate Inn (20-minute walk)

A traditional pub restaurant located on the A20, this is the closest pub to the accommodation and offers a classic pub menu and cosy atmosphere.

The George Inn (5-minute drive)

Nestled in Leeds Village, this welcoming country inn is perfect for a relaxed drink or a meal in a homely setting.

The Windmill, Hollingbourne (Few minutes’ drive)

Enjoy seasonal dishes and pub classics at this rustic gem. It’s a lovely spot with outdoor seating and a BBQ area when the weather’s kind.

The Potting Shed (Short drive)

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a stylish setting with an open-plan kitchen and lovely outdoor dining space during the warmer months.

Housekeeping will be provided every 4th day of your stay. Should you wish to request an additional clean, you can arrange this at Reception or by calling the team on 01622 880154. The clean will take place between 10:00am and 1:30pm.

If rubbish collection is required during your stay, please contact Reception, who will be happy to arrange this for you.

Please note, the main door is fitted with an automatic closing mechanism for your safety.

If you would prefer to keep the door open:

• Use the key beside the red break glass unit to turn off the auto-close function.
• This will allow the door to stay open as needed.

When you’re ready to close the door again:

• Simply turn the key back to ‘Auto’ to reactivate the automatic closing feature.
